Anne Pitter's expertise spans several practice areas, including corporate/business law, real estate law and bankruptcy/creditors rights law.
In the corporate/business law area, Ms. Pitter has extensive experience in all types of secured and unsecured credit arrangements representing both borrowers and institutional and private lenders. She has worked in the areas of mergers, acquisitions and dispositions, equity investments in joint ventures, partnerships and limited liability companies, employment agreements, covenants not to compete and confidentiality agreements, letters of credit, licensing and distributorship agreements and intellectual property issues, computer equipment and software contracts, and most routine matters for middle market companies. Representative industries include media and communications (such as cable television, print, radio and telecommunications), apparel, cigarette and liquor distributors, sporting goods, amusement parks, manufacturing plants, insurance and real estate brokerage companies, private equity and venture capital funds, and many private or family owned businesses, as well as public companies.
In real estate, Ms. Pitter's practice covers transactional real estate, including buying, selling and financing of real properties (mortgage and mezzanine loans for both lenders and borrowers), hotel management and brand/flag agreements, turn key construction hotel projects and the representation of real estate investors.
In the bankruptcy/creditors rights area, she has acted as a trustee and has represented both debtors and secured and unsecured creditors in connection with work outs, restructures, reorganizations, liquidations, and auction and other asset sales.
Ms. Pitter earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Rochester and her law degree from Albany Law School, where she was a law review notes and comments editor. She is admitted to the New York State Bar and the US Federal Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York. Ms. Pitter has also lectured on a variety of topics relating to asset based lending transactions and the drafting and negotiation of LLC/operating, partnership, investment and joint venture agreements.
