Paul M. Wolsk has specialized in real estate law for the last 25 years. During that time he has been involved in thousands of real estate deals working out of his brownstone office on Perry Street in the West Village. He has represented buyers and sellers of co-op apartments, condominiums, single family houses and multi-family buildings in neighborhoods throughout New York City and nearby counties. He also represents co-op boards of directors on general corporate matters. Over time he has built up extensive contacts in the real estate community. He has given lectures on legal topics at leading brokerage firms, written legal columns for The Cooperator covering matters of interest to the co-op and condominium community and been a panelist at Annual Housing Conferences given by the Council of New York Cooperatives and Condominiums. Prior to his real estate career, he worked as an entertainment lawyer representing artists, producers, songwriters, publishers and record companies. He represented the actor Yul Brynner in a proceeding against Actors Equity Association which resulted in a decision requiring the theater actors' union to cease charging dues that discriminated against aliens who perform in stage productions in this country. He also represented the heir of the writer of the song "Rock Around the Clock" in a suit which resulted in a decision finding him to be the successor of the writer's copyright interest in the song and determining when renewal rights vest under the Copyright Act. He is a graduate of Columbia University and New York University Law School. He is a member of the New York State Bar Association and the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.
